Get and install KNX-MCP
Version 1.1.0.0 (Release 1) is provided as one app package for ETS5 and ETS6 through the KNX Online Shop and is currently available free of charge.
Setup
How KNX-MCP connects.
KNX-MCP 1.1.0.0 is provided as one ETS App package for ETS5 and ETS6. The AI assistant connection is then configured directly in the app panel.
Enable Project MCP
KNX-MCP is deliberately enabled inside the open ETS project. New projects start disabled.
Use the MCP endpoint
ETS6 uses port 51900 by default, ETS5 port 51950. The port can be changed in the app.

Connect the AI assistant
The client configuration is available in the app panel. Clients that only support stdio can connect through an MCP bridge.
Choose permissions
Enable read-only or set individual tools to allowed, confirmation required or blocked.

Default: this computer only
The endpoint binds to 127.0.0.1 by default. Network access is optional and should only be used in trusted networks or over an additional secure connection.
AI
AI clients
MCP-capable assistants can connect. Names such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT or Cursor are examples only; their use is subject to each provider’s terms.
